The European KIS Contest

Finds, evaluates and awards Europe’s most successful start-up and VC backed companies in the area of Knowledge Intensive Services with the potential to dramatically impact their industry and contribute to increasing European competitiveness and growth.

Accelerates the growth of young innovative companies by providing access to top-level financiers, advisors and international
partners.

Creates an opportunity for young innovative companies to become members of the exclusive Knowledge Intensive Services 100 Club. A club of the most innovative and successful knowledge intensive services firms in Europehannels the innovation efforts of innovative regions towards supporting and encouraging the growth of real high potential innovators

Transfers information and knowledge on technology entrepreneurship to the stakeholder community in the form of better practices

Supports the global leaders of tomorrow at an early stage by updating the skill set they will need to grow and expand their
businesses successfully.

The European KIS Contest is part of the Knowledge Intensive Services – Innovation Platform (KIS–IP) a new initiative funded under Europe INNOVA (www.europe-innova.org/kis-ip), with the aim to accelerate the take-up of services innovations in Europe. 

The contest is open to companies in the following sectors:

  • Information and Communication Technologies,
  • Renewable Energy
  • Satellite Downstream Applications.

Applying companies should display evidence of either technological and process innovation and be active in the provision of services.

Selected applicants will be invited to present at the KIS Forum in Brussels on 19 February 2009. At this event the experts will nominate the winners and the following prizes will be awarded: Most successful Company (1st, 2nd, 3rd prize) and Most Innovative Company (1st, 2nd, 3rd prize).
