The Horizon Europe project FIERCE launched with its kick-off meeting on 12–13 November 2024 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Hosted by Q-PLAN INTERNATIONAL, this gathering brought together the FIERCE consortium’s seven partners to coordinate plans, align interdependent tasks, and set a strong foundation for the project’s impactful journey ahead.
As a key partner in the FIERCE consortium, Tech Tour leverages its extensive expertise in investment ecosystems to drive strategic initiatives and foster collaboration. Serving as the Strategic Partnerships leader, Tech Tour facilitates connections between stakeholders to strengthen the project's impact. Additionally, Tech Tour organises investment tracks and online pitching events, providing platforms for start-ups to showcase their innovations to potential investors. To further enhance the project’s objectives, Tech Tour also delivers tailored investment readiness advisory, empowering start-ups to attract funding and scale effectively. Through these efforts, Tech Tour plays a pivotal role in bridging gaps within the investment landscape and supporting the consortium’s mission to catalyse innovation across diverse ecosystems.
With a mission to accelerate Europe’s green and digital transition, FIERCE will mobilise €2.5 million in financial support for 70 SMEs, start-ups, and scale-ups to fuel the development, demonstration, and commercialisation of green, space-enabled solutions. On top of that, FIERCE will support 140 SMEs with specialised technical and business advisory services to design business solutions and engage in process innovation using downstream space data in areas such as circularity, raw materials, environmental monitoring, and corporate sustainability. In parallel, FIERCE will enable a series of local entrepreneurship initiatives driven by innovation intermediaries and business support networks aimed at creating even more opportunities for space-enabled green innovation through synergies with regional industrial, research, and market actors.
During the meeting, partners engaged in detailed discussions, shared insights into emerging technologies and trends, and explored ways to leverage space-enabled data to boost SMEs’ growth and sustainability. This collaborative approach lays the groundwork for FIERCE’s ambitious mission to support a more sustainable and innovative Europe.
At the end, the partners celebrated the beginning of FIERCE by enjoying traditional Greek cuisine—a perfect start to what promises to be an inspiring journey.
