Tech Tour Forest Bioeconomy 2026: Investment, Innovation & Impact at a Glance

The 24 selected companies have raised €120 million, while participating investor organisations have contributed to more than €21 billion in past investments.

Preparations are gearing up for Tech Tour Forest Bioeconomy 2026, taking place on 5–6 October in Graz, Austria. The programme brings together 24 selected companies with more than 50 active investors and industry experts participating across the Selection Panel and Expert Jury.

Key insights on participating companies

Investor backing: The selected companies have raised €120 million to date and are backed by 134 current investors. The underlying Dealroom analysis covers 17 of the 24 selected companies for which data is available.

Geographical spread: Austria leads the cohort with six companies, followed by Finland and Sweden with three each, and Estonia and Germany with two each.

Most represented subsectors: Engineering and manufacturing equipment represents the largest share at 30%, followed by energy at 26%, health at 13% and food at 9%, with other subsectors accounting for the remaining 22%.

Funding mix: Grants represent the most recent funding round for 22% of companies, while Series B, Early VC and Seed each account for 9%. Convertible, Series A and support programmes each represent 4%, with other funding types accounting for 39%.

Key insights on participating investors

Track record: Participating investor organisations have made a combined 1,769 past investments, contributing to transactions totalling €21.32 billion, and are connected to around 8,000 related co-investors.

Investor profile: Investment funds account for 64% of the investor organisations analysed, with corporates representing a substantial 32% and other organisations 4%. The investor data is based on 28 unique organisations represented in Dealroom.
