Nordic Innovation Fair 2024 Award Winners
The highly anticipated Nordic Innovation Fair 2024, a key platform for showcasing cutting-edge research projects and university spin-offs from across the Nordic region, successfully concluded on 23-24 September in Copenhagen, Denmark. This year’s event brought together an impressive array of innovative minds from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and Denmark, along with seasoned investors eager to foster partnerships and accelerate growth in the tech ecosystem. Out of a large pool of applicants, 30 research projects and spin-offs were carefully selected by a panel of over 35 active investors. The Selection Panel applied a collaborative scouting and review methodology to identify the most promising innovations, spotlighting the Nordic region’s potential to lead the global tech scene. Collectively, these participating investors have contributed to over 1,053 deals, with a total investment of €11.7 billion. The investor pool included 91% investment funds and 9% corporate investors, ensuring a diverse range of funding opportunities for the presenting companies.

The event served as an exceptional platform for both early-stage projects and fully operational companies, offering them the opportunity to present their groundbreaking ideas to a wide audience of investors and industry experts.
A key moment of the event was the recognition of seven outstanding projects for their compelling presentations and potential to disrupt industries with their innovative solutions. These award-winning projects, chosen by a jury of experts and investors, have the capacity to transform sectors and drive significant economic impact across the region. Aortic Phlex is revolutionizing heart valve treatment with its novel annuloplasty ring, designed to repair aortic valves rather than replace them, reducing the risk of complications such as infection, thrombosis, and the need for lifelong anticoagulant therapy.
CIBLE BIOSCIENCES is developing novel, oral small molecule compounds to enhance GLP1 receptor agonism-based obesity treatments, aiming to improve efficacy and reduce side effects in current anti-obesity therapies.
Ardos, a spinout from Aarhus University Hospital, offers DoseTracker software that provides real-time, patient-specific dose calculation during radiotherapy, enhancing treatment accuracy, increasing cure rates, and reducing side effects.
ERresQ develops small molecules targeting cellular stress for treating diabetes, ALS, and Parkinson’s, with lead assets—repurposed drugs that mimic MANF’s anti-inflammatory properties—ready for Phase II trials, alongside developing new chemical entities with similar mechanisms.
Hypermine.fi is shaping the Future of Sustainable Mining with Hyperspectral Sensing. The company is a VTT (National Research Center of Finland) spin-off.
MultivisionDx develops a machine learning and computer vision algorithm that analyzes tumor biopsies using protein markers and single-cell morphometric data to create a “tumor fingerprint,” helping oncologists identify the most effective personalized treatments for cancer patients.
Akasi Pharma is developing a long-acting, non-opioid peptide-based pain relief for peripheral neuropathic and postoperative pain, with a focus on targeting SST4, a key negative regulator of pain, and plans to spin out in 2025.
