Key Sector Insights from the 2025 Water Tech Programme

Participating investors have contributed in the past to well over €148 Billion in total investments.

The  Tech Tour Water Tech 2025 Investment Programme  has recently unveiled its selection of the 36 most promising water technology companies. These companies were selected by a Selection Panel of over 45 seasoned investors and corporate partners using a collaborative scouting and review methodology. The aim is to highlight companies with the strongest growth potential, cleantech innovation, and investment readiness.

Key insights

Investor commitment is significant. The investors involved in the programme have made over 4,100 investments to date, contributing to a combined total of more than €148 billion. This group includes both institutional and strategic players, with 73 percent coming from investment funds and 27 percent from corporates.

The selected companies have already demonstrated strong traction. Collectively, they have secured more than €105 million in previous funding, supported by 71 investments from 49 unique investors. This indicates substantial validation from the market.

In terms of geographic representation, the selection shows a diverse international spread. The United Kingdom and the United States lead with 4 selected companies each, followed closely by Sweden, Germany, and Switzerland with 3 companies each. This diversity reinforces the programme’s broad reach and global relevance.

The selected companies operate across a diverse set of subsectors, with energy being the most dominant, representing 35% of the group. Waste solutions account for 23%, followed by agritech and clean energy at 13% each. This distribution reflects the broad range of innovation areas being tackled within the water technology space, with a clear emphasis on sustainable and impactful solutions.

The selected companies will present their solutions at a live event taking place on 21–22 May 2024 in Aarhus, Denmark. The event will include pitching sessions, keynote speeches, panel discussions, one-to-one meetings, and extensive networking opportunities with investors and industry leaders.
