Tech Tour Growth Sustainability 2023

The Tech Tour Growth Sustainability 2023, a flagship event held in Essen on 27-29 November, showcased 95 of Europe’s most promising companies with climate and green technology solutions. They were selected for their growth and investment potential, from over 1,000 applications as follows:

45 Progamme Winners from 7 different specialised qualifying Tech Tour Programmes in the sustainability sector throughout the year. Those 45 Winners were selected by some 400 seasoned investors as the best of the 250 companies actually presenting at these 7 Tech Tour Event Programmes with a combined total of some 900 applications, and;
50 Growth companies in the energy sector chosen by a Selection Panel consisting of 70+ active European investors from over 150 applications.

The Tech Tour Growth Sustainability 2023 showed a diverse European presence in sustainable technology, with Germany leading with 33 companies, 14 of which were hosted by the Partners of the hosting North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) region. The Netherlands followed with 11 companies, and both Norway and the UK contributed 7 each, while France added 6.

The Tech Tour Growth Sustainability 2023 featured 15 pitching sessions, providing a platform for companies to demonstrate their cutting-edge solutions and compete for recognition. For each of the sessions, an Award Winner was selected, showcasing the best in their respective categories. Over 140 investors experts present diligently voted to choose the Award Winners.

The event in Essen was hosted by BRYCK and partnered with Global Entrepreneurship Center (GEC), the NRW region’s Ministry of Economy, Energy, Industry and Climate Protection (NRW MWIKE), Essen Business, NRW Bank, Bryan, Garnier & Co., Evonik, Logitech, Rag-Stiftung, Silverpeak, and Zaz Ventures.

The Tech Tour in Essen attracted an audience of 300+ participants from 24 countries. Among them 95 companies and the 140 expert investors. Key to the event’s success was the interaction amongst the companies and investors, who shared presentations, question and answer sessions and one-to-one meetings. This engagement and collaboration underscore the event’s role in facilitating investment in technology companies.

Every year, Tech Tour brings together 1,000+ selected tech companies with Europe’s 1,000 most active investors and corporate partners over 25 invitation-only Programmes across Europe, covering all tech sectors such as digital, health and sustainability.   

Over the last 7 and a half years, entrepreneurs who presented at Tech Tour events cumulatively raised over €20.7 billion in investments. 76% of the companies that were selected in the Tech Tour programmes raised funding. 78% of the total funding raised over the life of the company was committed to after the first presentation at a Tech Tour event.
