The Numbers Behind Tech Tour Food & Bioeconomy 2026

The 36 selected companies have raised over €150 million, while participating investors have contributed to more than €34 billion in past investments.

Anticipation is building for the Tech Tour Food & Bioeconomy 2026 Investment Programme, which culminates in an event on 7-8 October in Ås, Oslo region, Norway. The presenting companies have been selected from a large pool of applicants by a panel of 45 investors and experts through a collaborative review process.

Key insights on participating companies

Investor backing: The selected companies have already raised €154.3 million in total from 158 investors.

Geographical spread: Germany and Norway lead the cohort with six companies each, followed by Israel, the Netherlands and Spain with three each, and Ukraine, France, Belgium and the United Kingdom with two each.

Most represented subsectors: Agritech dominates at 47% of the cohort, with innovative food second at 22%. Biotechnology and waste solutions each account for 8%, aquaculture 6%, and energy, food, and food logistics and delivery 3% each.

Funding mix: For 31% of the companies, the most recent raise was a grant rather than equity. Seed rounds follow at 23% and Early VC at 19%, with Series B at 8% and Series A, debt, support programmes, acquisitions and growth equity VC each at 4%.

Key insights on participating investors

Track record: The participating investor organisations have made a combined 2,057 investments, contributing to transactions totalling €34.28 billion, and are connected to some 10,000 related co-investors.

Investor profile: Investment funds make up 79% of the investor group, with corporates at 16% and government, non-profit and service providers accounting for the remainder. That mix gives selected companies access to both financial capital and strategic industry routes to market.
