Boost for Scotland as Major European Mental and Brain Health Tech Investment Conference Announced for Glasgow

Tech Tour Europe–which has seen 59.5 billion Euros invested in over 3,500 companies in the past 10 years–will bring the third edition of its Mental & Brain Health 2026 investor program to Glasgow later this year.
Glasgow, Scotland — 24–25 September 2026 – European investors and health tech startups are set to arrive in Scotland to advance innovation in epilepsy, MND, MS, mental health and other neurological conditions.
Tech Tour, one of Europe’s leading investor conferences announced that the third edition of its Mental & Brain Health Programme will take place in Glasgow.
The conference will convene more than 30 selected companies with 40 active investors to accelerate investment, partnerships and commercial growth.
Hosted with the support of Scottish Enterprise, the event will bring international investors, entrepreneurs and strategic partners to Glasgow and signposts Scotland as a centre of conversation on the future of brain and mental health innovation. The event is a vote of confidence in Scotland’s technology and life sciences ecosystem, and its ambition to build stronger links with European investment networks.
The selected companies will work across areas including health and wellness, medical devices, clinical systems, screening and diagnostics, therapeutics, data, artificial intelligence and epilepsy. Their work has the potential to improve how conditions such as epilepsy, MND, MS and mental health conditions, among other things, are diagnosed, treated and managed.
As health systems across Europe face rising demand from neurological and mental health conditions, the conference will highlight the role of technology in supporting earlier diagnosis, better condition management, improved care and future treatment development.
William Stevens, CEO of Tech Tour, said:
“Tech Tour is delighted to bring the Mental & Brain Health Programme to Scotland. Glasgow is an excellent host city for a programme focused on technology, life sciences, investment and patient impact.
“Scotland has clear strengths in universities, clinical research, health innovation and entrepreneurship, and we see it as an important partner in Europe’s innovation ecosystem. Hosting this programme here reflects Scotland’s momentum and its ambition to build stronger links with European investment networks.”
Michael Sturrock, President of Tech Tour Mental & Brain Health 2026, said:
“This conference is a major opportunity for Scotland. It brings together the people building, backing and scaling the technologies that could transform how we diagnose, treat and manage some of the most serious brain and mental health conditions.
“As someone with epilepsy and involved in the Scottish technology ecosystem, I am both excited for and personally vested in the success of this event. I am deeply honoured that William and the Tech Tour team invited me to be President and delighted, too, that epilepsy has a special track in this conference.
“Scotland and its world-class tech community have the research clout, clinical expertise, life sciences credibility and entrepreneurial ambition to play a much bigger role in this field. Bringing Europe’s leading investors and startups to Glasgow is a strong signal of that potential.”
David McLay, Head of Scaling Innovation at Scottish Enterprise said:
“This event presents a fantastic opportunity for Scottish scale-ups, opening the door to Tech Tour’s impressive global network of investors, innovation clusters, and commercial partners. By taking part companies working in Life Sciences can build valuable connections, secure funding, and explore new international markets. It’s a great platform for driving growth, innovation, and commercial success among Scotland’s high-growth businesses, and Scottish Enterprise is delighted to be backing those global ambitions.”
The 2026 programme follows two previous editions of Tech Tour’s Mental & Brain Health initiative and comes at a time of increasing investor, clinical and public interest in technologies that can improve neurological and mental health outcomes.
This edition will also feature the inaugural European Mental & Brain Health Scale-up Circle — a closed-door, CEO-only peer forum convening founders of European scale-up companies in the category, alongside selected US peers, for candid exchange on multi-market scaling, reimbursement and the European-to-US transition.”
Marco Mohwinckel, healthcare executive, advisor, and investor in mental and brain health, and Co-President of Tech Tour Mental & Brain Health 2026
“When we launched this programme three years ago, Europe lacked a serious convening for one of the most important categories in healthcare. Bringing it to Scotland for its third edition is the right next chapter — Scotland has been a genuine pioneer in digital mental health, with the research base, clinical expertise and willingness to engage with industry that few other jurisdictions have shown at a system level.
“Events like this matter because they connect the best science and technology with the investment and expertise needed to scale. That is how we advance better diagnostics, improved care, new treatments and, ultimately, real solutions for conditions that urgently need more innovation.”
Gordon Hodge, Head of Conferencing and Events at the University of Strathclyde, said: “We are delighted to host Tech Tour Mental & Brain Health 2026 at the University of Strathclyde, bringing leading investors, entrepreneurs, researchers and innovators from across Europe to Glasgow.
“As a university with a strong commitment to advancing health, technology and innovation, we recognise the importance of creating opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.”
