Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, will announce an ambitious European Innovation Council (EIC) action for the Ukrainian innovation community.

 

On Thursday 9 June Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, will announce an ambitious European Innovation Council (EIC) action for the Ukrainian innovation community. This initiative will provide direct financial and non-financial support for Ukrainian deep-tech start-ups. The Commissioner will be accompanied by:

  • Olha Stefanishyna, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration
  • Taavi Madiberk, EIC Board Member. 
  •  

The press corner will take place on the occasion of adopting the amended 2022 EIC work programme.

Background information

The European Innovation Council is aimed at researchers, entrepreneurs and companies developing projects with high market potential. The Programme offers significant funding and investment to support the risks associated with developing new, 'disruptive' technologies.

The EIC has a budget of more than €10 billion and is implemented by the EIC and SME Executive Agency (EISMEA).
