On the 30th of November 2023, the European Patent Academy, in collaboration with the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), is set to organise another online seminar, as part of the High-Growth Technology Business Forums Programme. This event is designed to focus on IP Strategy and Management and aims to explore the integral role of intellectual property within corporate business strategy and demonstrate how effective IP management can significantly impact business performance.

In today's competitive marketplace, intellectual property has become an indispensable asset for many businesses, particularly those in the fast-paced technology sectors. Unique ideas and innovations often provide a competitive edge, and managing these effectively is key to sustainable growth. The forum will shed light on this critical aspect by discussing a case study, demonstrating how businesses harness the power of IP strategy and management to create added value.

The case study is presented by Thomas Nieraad, experienced entrepreneur and co-founder and Board Chair of Connect One Digital AG, a provider of Internet of Things product-based customer interactions. He will explain how his company revolutionises the food and beverage industry. They create digital solutions that directly link customers to businesses using real-time consumer products. By transforming everyday items into smart, configurable tools connected to any digital service or offering, they enable brands to directly and interactively communicate with consumers, enhancing user experience, bolstering customer loyalty, and boosting business growth.

The online event is divided into two parts. The first hour will be dedicated to the main forum, followed by an optional second hour for a "meet-the-speakers" session and discussion. Although it is an online training, a working knowledge of intellectual property rights, especially patents, is required for participants to fully benefit from the discussion.

The forum targets high-growth technology businesses and small and medium-sized technology enterprises, particularly decision-makers and IP professionals. It also welcomes other members of the innovation ecosystem, including investors, researchers, IP advisors, and market facilitators. The event offers an opportunity for interaction, networking, and insightful discussions.

The speakers and panellists bring together a wealth of experience and expertise. Hosted by Thomas Bereuter, Programme Area Manager at the European Patent Academy, EPO, and Dana Colarulli, Executive Director at LESI, the event will feature expert panel representatives Bruce Berman, founder and chairman of the Center for Intellectual Property Understanding, and Wanxing Eugene Ho, Research and IP Director at Mengniu Dairy. The panel will be chaired by Prof. Alexander Wurzer, Director IP Management Education at CEIPI.

The forum offers a prime opportunity to learn from industry leaders and gain insights into the practical aspects of intellectual property management. Participants will leave equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to craft a robust and effective IP strategy that fits within the wider context of their corporate business.

As a critical component of a business's strategic toolkit, IP strategy and management play a pivotal role in determining a company's success in the competitive tech landscape. This event serves as an invaluable platform to learn, share ideas, and engage in constructive discussions on the future of intellectual property in the tech industry. Don't miss out on this opportunity to contribute to the dialogue on shaping the future of IP management in the high-growth technology sector.
