Participating investors have contributed in the past to over €7 Billion in total investments.

 

The Tech Tour Ocean 2024 Investment Programme has recently announced its selection of the 34 most promising emerging companies. These selection was made by a Selection Panel of 35 active investors and corporate partners through a collaborative scouting and review methodology. (See the selected companies below.)

 

Key insights

Investor commitment: The participating investors collectively have made 700+ previous investments, amassing a total of €7.4 Billion. The group consists of 70% investment funds and 30% corporates.

 

Company funding: Historically, the selected companies have already received 121 investments from 67 current investors.

 

Top countries by selected companies: Norway stands out as the leading country, hosting 12 companies, which underscores its significant role in the programme. This is followed by Switzerland and the Netherlands, each with 3 companies, and Sweden and Finland, which are represented by 2 companies each. This distribution underlines the programme's broad geographic reach and Norway's prominent position.

 

Most represented subsectors: The companies are predominantly concentrated in the energy and food sectors, which together form a significant majority, accounting for 41% and 37% respectively. Transportation also contributes, representing 10% of the focus areas. This emphasis on the primary sectors highlights the strategic significance of energy and food within the ocean sector.

The selected companies will showcase their solutions at a live event on 13-14 May 2024 in Bodø, Norway. The event will feature pitching sessions, keynote speeches, panel discussions, one2one meetings, and extensive networking opportunities.
