Participating investors have contributed in the past to over €35 Billion in total investments.

 

The Tech Tour Mental & Brain Health 2024 Investment Programme has recently unveiled its selection of the 34 most promising mental and brain health technology companies. These selection was made by a Selection Panel of 55+ active investors and corporate partners using a collaborative scouting and review methodology. (See the selected companies below.)

 

Key insights

Investor commitment: The participating investors collectively have made 2,000+ investments in the past, contributing to a total of €35.6 Billion. They comprise 69% investment funds and 31% corporates.

 

Companies funding: The selected companies historically have already received 336 investments from 133 investors.

 

Top countries by selected companies: The selected companies demonstrate a broad presence, with Switzerland and the United States each hosting 5 companies. The United Kingdom follows with 4 companies whereas Spain are Portugal are represented with 3 companies each. This diversity underscores the broad geographic reach of the selected companies.

 

Most represented subsectors: The companies are predominantly distributed across four key subsectors, with health platforms accounting for 40%. Medical devices represent 37% while biotechnology and wellness account for 13% and 10% respectively.

The selected companies will showcase their innovations at a live event on 2-3 May 2024, held at the Nova Business School in the Carcavelos Campus in Carcavelos, Portugal. The event will feature pitching sessions, keynote speeches, panel discussions, one2one meetings, and extensive networking opportunities.

 

The Programme is presided by Marco Mohwinckel from Magnolia Health Advisors, with programme leaders Antonio Murta from Pathena and Nuno Sousa from University of Minho. Janke Dittmer from Gilde Healthcare Partners serves as the Vice President of the Selection Panel.

 

The event is hosted by the Nova School of Business and Economics and is partnered with Boehringer Ingelheim, Johnson & Johnson, Ontario Brain Institute, and Zest Scientific (division of Zest Business Group).
